2025: A New Year at the Pottery Studio
It’s been a fantastic start to the year here at the studio! Both our 6-Week Throwing Course and the in-depth Art of Ceramics: A Comprehensive Study of Materials and Methods course are off to a flying start. It’s been a joy to watch students make steady progress—after weeks of practice, many have mastered the humble cylinder and are now moving on to crafting mugs and larger pieces. The energy and enthusiasm in the studio are infectious!
A Warm Haven in Cold Weather
Despite the chill of winter, the studio has been a cozy sanctuary, with our trusty kilns keeping the space warm and inviting. Over the holiday period, we hosted some truly special moments. From private hire birthday parties to our January handbuilding classes, creativity has been flowing! The hand-built pots produced during these sessions are nothing short of stunning.
We’ve also been lucky to welcome students from a wide range of places—spanning Llangollen, Rhyl, Chester, and Liverpool. It’s heartening to see such a diverse group of ceramic enthusiasts coming together to share their passion for clay.

1:1 Throwing Sessions: Don’t Miss Out
Our 1:1 throwing sessions have been incredibly popular this year, with spaces filling up quickly. I’ve been absolutely blown away by the skills and creativity of first-time throwers who’ve joined us for these 2-hour taster sessions. It’s amazing to see how much can be accomplished in such a short time—students are not only learning to throw but also decorating their pieces with beautiful, personal designs.
